As the Department of Psychiatry continues to strive to create, disseminate and promote the utilization of knowledge with regard to mental health and mental illness and as one of the clinical science departments within the Faculty of Medicine, we are proud to boast a tradition of excellence in terms of faculty, research and student experience.
The Department of Psychiatry, in celebration of its centenary and as part of these ongoing efforts within the mental health community is proud to announce the “Alumni & Friends Society” initiative.
Mission Statement
The Department of Psychiatry Alumni & Friends Society provides leadership, support, recognition and encouragement to foster lifelong relationships between and among its alumni, supporters, students, faculty and the University of Toronto . Our proud history of education and research has fostered a sizeable Alumni and support group. The primary goal of the Alumni & Friends Society is to foster communication between these groups and the Department of Psychiatry, focusing on the following elements:
- To develop and maintain contact with Alumni for both social and professional purposes.
- To provide information about our alma mater, our faculty, our students and our Alumni.
- To recognize and reward academic and professional excellence.
- To assist our students with educational, professional and fundraising initiatives.
- To participate in fundraising events supporting the Alumni & Friends Society and its constituents.
