Endowed Chairs

Outstanding academic work has been recognized through the awarding of a Professorship or Chair. These positions carry with them both an acknowledgement of pre-eminence and an expectation that the occupant will provide ongoing leadership. Without exception in our department, this has been the case. Each one has carried out the mandate – education, research, exemplary clinical care and the ambassadorial function – admirably. The department currently has 23 active Endowed Chairs and Professorship. A permanent historical exhibit of past and present chairholders is on display in the Department.
