    Dr. Stergiopoulos is a clinician scientist at St. Michael’s Hospital. Her clinical, education and research activities focus on the development and evaluation of community based interventions to address the needs of people who are homeless and on resident training in management, advocacy and quality improvement. Dr.Stergiopoulos has a keen interest in mental health policy, community development and the redesign of our system of mental health care for the purpose of system improvement. She has worked towards hospital community integration, integration of mental health with the rest of health and system level coordination for people who are homeless through collaborative community based clinical program development and research.
    She serves on the Mental Health and Addictions Steering Committee of the Toronto Central LHIN and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Seaton House Family Health Team and Inner City Health Associates.
    She holds a MOHLTC Career Scientist Award, a Canadian Association for Medical Education Award, as well as a Recognition Award by the Ontario College of Family Physicians

  • Research Interests

    Areas of of research include studies of the effectiveness and cost effectiveness of interventions aiming to address the complex health needs of people who are homeless and of those who are frequent users of the mental health system. An additional area of focus includes educational research on Physician Manager Role curriculum development, as well as curriculum and resident evalaution.
