Research Interests
The medical psychiatry program addresses unexplained medical symptoms associated with functional impairment in young people and their families. We have a number of psychiatrists and allied mental health professionals working in an inpatient and outpatient capacity. The program also provides consultation to paediatricians working with mental health issues in patients. Other clinical problems addressed by the program include: co-morbid medical and psychiatric problems. Our research interests focus on unexplained medical symptoms in the paediatric population and knowledge transfer of mental health issues to paediatricians and family doctors.
