Research Interests
Dr. Robin Green is a neuropsychologist and research scientist at the Toronto Rehabilitation Institute and University of Toronto. Her main program of research is a CIHR-funded prospective, longitudinal study examining the natural history of cognitive (and motor) recovery following moderate and severe TBI, and examining in particular why cognitive recovery stops before it is complete. The possibility of competition between recovering functions resulting in a trade-off between them is under investigation. Reasons for regression of cognitive functioning following normal recovery are also under investigation in a study funded by the Physicians’ Services Incorporated. Another program of research focuses on emotion perception deficits after TBI. This is an NSERC-funded program examining the prevalence, causes and functional implications of disorders in reading facial emotions after TBI. Dr. Green is also a co-investigator in a program of research concerning measurement of mild cognitive deficits after concussion in varsity athletes.
