    Bruce G. Pollock, M.D., Ph.D., FRCP(C), FCP is the Vice-President, Research at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), Professor and Dicretor, Division of Geriatric Psychiatry at the University of Toronto.

    Dr. Pollock has authored more than 300 published articles and is listed by ISI as among the 1% most cited authors in the field of geriatric psychiatry. In 2003 he became a Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and was honored with the Distinguished Investigator Award of the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP) which is presented to a researcher for his or her contributions to the body of research in geriatric psychiatry. Dr. Pollock has served as President of the AAGP, the first Canadian to serve in this position, and was awarded the Jack Weinberg Memorial Award for excellence in Geriatric Psychiatry from the APA in 2009. In 2010 he became a Fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology and was a U.S. Food and Drug Administration visiting Professor. Dr. Pollock received the 2011 Award for Research in Geriatric Psychiatry by the American College of Psychiatrists

  • Research Interests

    Dr. Pollock’s research includes clinical studies examining neurochemical selectivity, pharmacometrics and effects of conventional or newly derived agents for the treatment of depression and the behavioral disturbances of dementia. He has had a leadership role in numerous clinical trials. The U.S. National Institutes of Health has continuously funded his research since 1990 and he is currently the principal investigator of two NIH-funded clinical research trials on psychiatric disorders in geriatric patients.
