The Neuroscience Program within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Toronto seeks to define the mechanisms in the brain that are involved in psychiatric disorders. The methodologies employed in this effort include studies of human behaviour, addictions, pharmacology, animal models, molecular and cellular approaches, electrophysiology, molecular genetics, epigenetics, neuroimaging and neuroanatomy. The Department of Psychiatry has a very strong breadth as well as depth across contemporary neuroscience research.
