36TH ANNUAL HARVEY STANCER
RESEARCH DAY
Thursday June 17th, 2010
The Department of Psychiatry's 36th Annual Harvey Stancer Research Day will be held on Thursday June 17th, 2010.
Research Day is a major function of the Department of Psychiatry. It allows researchers to present a synopsis of their current research to one another, to the Toronto Psychiatric community, and to the public. In particular, it provides the opportunity for junior members in our Department, including residents, fellows and students, to prepare and deliver an academic presentation. Research submissions, including studies using quantitative, qualitative, and case study designs and methodologies are welcome.
This year's Harvey Stancer Research Day will be held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. Poster presenters are expected to display their poster prior to the keynote session and are expected to attend the keynote session and be available during the poster session to answer questions from attendees. Speakers are expected to attend the keynote session and sessions when they are not presenting.
Sincerely,
The Harvey Stancer Research Day Conference Team

INSTRUCTIONS FOR POSTER PRESENTATIONS |
| |
|
|
THE EMPHASIS SHOULD BE ON CONTENT AND CLARITY - DO NOT MAKE THIS AN EXPENSIVE OR OVERLY-ELABORATE PRESENTATION
Each poster will have available an area five feet (1.5 m) wide and three feet (~ 1m) high. Material will be available to attach your poster to the boards.
A suggested use of the space is as follows:
- A paper banner across the top, containing the paper title, (shortened, if necessary), author(s), and affiliation.
- One 8 X 11 page with abstract in large type, followed by additional pages outlining the introduction, methodology, results, discussion and conclusion.
- Table and/or graphs and/or pictures greatly enhance poster presentations.
The poster need not include the entire text of the paper in the way that it might be written for publication.
It would be desirable to have copies of the abstract or complete paper available as handouts, or a paper pad for persons to write their names and addresses so that copies can be sent to them.
SOME THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND:
- Do not make this an expensive or overly-elaborate presentation.
- The emphasis should be on content and clarity.
- Use oversize type (if it is available).
- Do not exceed the space limitations.
ELIGIBILITY:
Judging of posters will take place on Research Day, June 17, 2010, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
To be considered for an award, posters must be installed on the display board in the Exhibition Hall BEFORE the Keynote Address and remain posted until 4:30 pm when the judging is complete.
Posters removed early are NOT ELIGIBLE for an award. |
